Entre Chien Et Loupe (No Lusco Fusco)

2010-2024

The light of the setting sun reflected with a maritime signaling mirror onto the lens of the camera, filmed from the moment the sun first touched the horizon line until it had entirely set and the mirror lost its glare. "Entre chien et loup" (between dog and wolf) in French means twilight, the transitional hour between sunset and moonrise when forms remain visible, but in an increasingly uncertain and ambiguous manner. Its brazilian counterpart “No Lusco Fusco” designates the same moment of time.

This video was shot in 2010, as part of a larger video installation, but only found its title and status as a stand-alone work in 2024 for the group exhibition "Lua Nova" at Marli Matsumoto gallery in São Paulo, Brazil.
